Welcome!

On behalf of the Prince William County Basketball Committee, I would like to welcome all of the participants and supporters to the Boys 16 and Under, “Division II” District Championship, May 2-4, 2008.

To make this weekend enjoyable for everyone, please ensure that all participants in this event are familiar with the Virginia AAU rules and regulations regarding tournaments. The rules and regulations are published in the current Virginia Association AAU Basketball Handbook (http://www.vaaaubb.net./08_handbook.pdf).

Tournament Bracket:
I have attached the tournament bracket.  I will notify the head coach if there are any changes in the schedule for your team. You can also check our website (www.pwaau.com) periodically for any changes to the bracket. The top teams will advance to the AAU National Championship.

Team Check-in: Coaches and players must check-in at least 30 minutes prior to their first game, at the location of their first game with the site director at the school. The head coach must have copies of player’s birth certificates at the tournament as well as age/grade exception forms.

Bench Decorum: All non-uniformed persons on the bench shall wear slacks (no sweat pants, jeans, warm-ups or athletic pants), shirts with collars and sleeves and dress shoes or tennis shoes during play at all Virginia Association tournaments. Shorts, jeans sweat pants, tee shirts, hats and open-toed shoes are not permitted. Bench decorum will be strictly enforced.

Security: For safety and enjoyment we have arranged to have security available at each venue.

Admission: Admission ticket prices for the weekend tournament pass are $12 for adults and $8 for students ('students' shall mean 18 and under). Daily entrance tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. Admission for children 6 and under is free.

Please ensure that your teams and parents are aware of the rules for each venue, many of the Middle Schools DO NOT allow food and drinks (other than 100% water) into the building.

Gyms and Hotels: You will find the names and addresses to the various gyms and hotels in the Prince William area on our website (www.pwaau.com) as well.

I would like to extend a thank you from the Prince William County Basketball Committee to all of the athletes, coaches and supporters for participating this weekend.

If any further information is needed, please feel free to contact us.

Good Luck to everyone!
